Lianna Merner (University of Leeds)

Lianna joined Changing the Story as Project Manager (maternity leave cover) in April 2020. Prior to CTS, she was the Africa Programme Coordinator at PEN International, a writer’s organisation that promotes literature and defends freedom of expression. She worked for a number of years in the Africa division at Human Rights Watch, and has experience working with community organisations in Canada, the UK and Cameroon.

She has a BA in International Development and History and an MA in Human Rights from the University of Sussex.
