Helene strives to facilitate critical education with young people and provide them with the tools necessary to promote a more just and fair society. She has an interest in dialogical learning and the implementation of culturally responsive teaching. She loves curating resources and materials relevant to youth that can mediate between grasping difficult sociological concepts and furthering their knowledge to promote a better world. Helene is an experienced community social worker and primary education specialist. She holds an honours in Social Development and a Masters in Primary Education. She is a co-founder of Bottomup, a nonprofit organisation promoting critical education with children and high school youth.

Helene is the Changing the Story Safeguarding Lead and co-curator of Stories on Critical Hope. Helene will lead a series of CTS Knowledge Exchange workshops from Autumn 2021.
