Marc J. Gwamaka is one of the co-founders of Peace and Love Proclaimers (PLP) "Youth for Change," a dynamic peace-building youth organisation and he is the initiator of 'Walk to Remember' a well-known international education programme used to educate and mobilise youth from all over the World to fight against Genocide. This event has seen heads of states and normal citizens walk together to commemorate the genocide against the Tutsi of 1994. Gwamaka a multi-talented individual has acted in various feature films like HBOs "Sometimes in April" and award winning film called "Kinyarwanda". Gwamaka is responsible for the day to day national youth leadership programmes for Aegis Trust in Rwanda. He developed the youth champions and youth ambassadors' program which has seen him train over 1427 youth in Rwanda, South Sudan, Kenya and Central African Republic. The program that involves developing and facilitating youth leadership and supporting youth leaders to start peace and small scale projects, has been key in developing and starting up over 183 projects. He is also the founder of the Art for Peace a program that gives young people a platform to express themselves through painting, drawing, poetry, film and photography. Gwamaka has been an active human rights activist since his teenage years.
