The Department of Architecture and Built Environment at University of Rwanda is a newly established department at the University responsible for the next generation of Rwandan architects. It is located at the University of Rwanda’s College of Science and Technology campus in Nyarugenge District, with a new facility able to accommodate 600 students. This move reflects the radical transformations in urban spaces Kigali.

The Department of Architecture and Built Environment are a partner on the Phase 2 Large Grant project 'Reanimating Contested Spaces (ReSpace): Designing Participatory Civic Education for and with Young People in Kosovo and Rwanda.'
